"Perfect Relaxing Holiday"
Reviewed August 1, 2017 We had great holidays staying at Ida's apartments. Our studio was just as expected, clean and equipped with everything you need. The balcony was nice and big also. What I liked the most was outside patio with fireplace and seatings, surrounded by garden where you can eat dinner or drink a glass of wine and chill in the evening. Ida and her family were the best hosts! They are all super nice, helpful and hospitable, they do their best for guests and we really felt welcomed. They prepared two sea food dinners for us which were delicious, you can also buy wine, jam and other home made stuff directly from them. We were looking for such place and got it! About Sućuraj, it is a small, quiet village without many tourists but still has everything you need. Beaches are limited within walking distance but there is a lot to explore with car or bicycle. There are beautiful coves in Gdinje and Bogomolje they are reachable by car and definitely worth a visit. Around Sucuraj you will find many hidden beach places, all are reachable with bike. "Perfect"
Reviewed August 19, 2016 This vacation was everything I expected. The apartment was as described, very clean with everything I needed. The host Katarina, her mother and her father are such nice and warm hearted persons, always making sure me and my husband had everything we need. We also brought our dog with us and she was also very nicely accepted by everyone. Sućuraj is a very lovely little town, the center is very close to the apartment with several great restaurants! I have to admit that on the last day I had teary eyes because I didn't want to leave and I wanted to stay there forever! I would definitely recommend this apartment and the host to everyone! "Trip Highlight"
Reviewed June 6, 2015 Four of us stayed and ate here on a bicycle trip around the islands. The experience was every bit as good as the reviews. Ida greeted us with a snack and some of her husband's wine. The fish dinner was outstanding, including appetizers and dessert. One of our group has a practice of asking for fresh strawberries with ice cream and triple sec in restaurants. We mentioned it as a joke, and were amazed to see it appear at the end of the meal. The apartments are new, comfortable and clean. Ours had a balcony overlooking the garden and the water. Two minutes' walk brings you to the harbor where there are restaurants, cafes and a grocery store. The rooms have small kitchens, but you won't tire of Ida's cooking for at least a week. Breakfast was included, and amazing. Ida also arranged a boat to take us to Korcula, since the ferry only goes to the mainland. Not cheap, but convenient. I will return to Hvar just to stay here. "Perfect choice!"
Reviewed September 13, 2014 We spent our holiday in Ida's apartment in August and were absolutely satisfied, room was comfy and clean, the town is cozy and Ida's whole family is fantastic - always helpful and nice. As we were travelling with our little doggie I recommend this place for those who want to spend their holidays wit 4 legs friends. Sucuraj has beautiful beaches and you can rent a broat and explore all the beautiful bays. What you absolutely can not miss is Ida's dinner - meal is always fresh, tasty and homemade with love. We can only recommend Ida's apartments as well as Sucuraj. "Fantastic stay in Sućuraj"
Reviewed August 28, 2014 Katarina and her family were by far the most gracious AirBnB hosts we've ever stayed with. They were very welcoming and accommodated all of our needs beyond our expectations. I can't emphasize enough how well they take care of you during your stay. Do not pass on the homemade breakfasts and dinners that they offer, they are SPECTACULAR. The apartment was modern, clean and picturesque with beautiful views. A very short walking distance to the beach, grocery store and "city center". We had a 4 month old in tow so we kept our day trips pretty simple and mostly explored on foot to the local beaches. Snorkeling was very cool with all kinds of beautiful fish to swim with. Sucuraj is a beautiful sleepy island town, especially during the week. The ultimate low-key relaxing vacation destination. Thank you SO MUCH!!! "The best stay in Croatia"
Reviewed August 26, 2014 Apartments Ida in Sucuraj, are the best ones I came across during my several trips to various parts of Croatia. We have stayed in 2 bedroom apartment, with a separate living room and the kitchen. Comfortable, well equipped, spotlessly clean and private. We had a large terrace overlooking the olive grove and the Adriatic sea. The owners of the apartments Ida and her Family made us feel very welcomed. We were met at the ferry port to make sure we found the way to the apartment. On our arrival we were offered drinks and tasty home made snacks in the beautiful environment of their terrace. Their generosity and warmth made us feel at home from the moment we arrived until we left several days later. On few occasions we took an option to have evening meals cooked by Ida. All her dishes were beautifully served and mouthwatering. The vegetables were straight from her garden, olive oil from the olives produced locally; fresh fish caught that day by the local fisherman and good wine produced by Ida's husband. The best meals in Croatia we have ever had by far!!! If you wish, Ida offers her home made produce to buy in her 'home supermarket'. Surely, we have left with bottles of olive oil, wine and lavender oil. All top products and reasonably priced. Sucuraj, it is a small, pretty town with a port serving ferries from the main land. Several shops, few restaurants, friendly people and stunning views. There are several beaches around the town, short walk from the apartment. We have found a spot near the lighthouse and had it for ourselves for the duration of our stay.i It is a small gem and I'm sure we will be back again and again. "Perfect vacation"
Reviewed July 7, 2014 We spent at Ida's apartments over two weeks in June. We went there with two daughters who are 4 and 2 years old. It was our best holidays ever. Accomodation conditions - perfect, hosts - ideal, town - charming, local meals - delicious, all of it caused these days flew in a blink of an eye. I highly recommend Ida Apartments as a perfect place to spend vacation on the Hvar island. "Outstanding Hospitality"
Reviewed September 20, 2013 Sucuraj is a great little town and Apartments Ida is an amazing find. The rooms are sparkling clean, the house is a five minute walk away from the beach and town center, and the location is peaceful and relaxing. But best of all, Ida and her family showed us the most kind hospitality we've ever experienced on a trip. Be sure to take advantage of the excellent home cooked dinners they offer each night (great vegetarian options available!) and stick around after for fun conversation with the owners. Most of the vegetables and fruit we had came from Ida's own garden and were absolutely delicious (the figs are outstanding). We couldn't have asked for a better island paradise - we were only supposed to stay one day and ended up extending our trip by four additional days because we couldn't get ourselves to leave! "Wonderful"
Reviewed August 20, 2013 My boyfriend and I stayed here a few nights in July and loved it. The accommodation was clean, quiet, perfectly located within walking distance of a stone beach, and Ida and her family could not have been more welcoming and hospitable to our needs. The vegetables we ate for dinner were grown in her garden, the seafood fresh, the wine made from their grapes, and all cooked by Ida herself and her family. The prices are extremely affordable for the apartment and dinner, and we were blown away by the quality. I hope I get to stay here again one day. "Superb! Very friendly and traditional."
Reviewed July 2, 2013 We stayed just for 2 nights at this wonderful accommodation. Welcomed by Ida the owner with tea, coffee and home made cake, we chatted for an hour before being showed to our apartment. The location is brilliant - 5min walk from the port, 5min walk from a small local pebble beach and a 5min walk from half a dozen restaurants on the harbourside. We had arranged with Ida before arriving that we would like to have dinner cooked for us. She was brilliant! We had a sample of various aperitifs all made from produce from their grounds. Then we were given carpaccio sardines with bread and courgette fritters followed by a whole grilled mackerel each, a prawn skewer each and a tuna steak each! All of which were absolutely beautiful. We then were given some more of her beautiful homemade cherry cake. If you are lucky to stay at Ida's please please please make sure you try her food! The next day we rented a small motor boat from Ida's son and took it out for the whole day exploring the coast line with it's lovely secluded bays. We were so disappointed that we only booked 2 nights at Ida's - next time we will spend a lot longer there! It's great value, a brilliant and Ida makes what feels like a traditional Croatian experience. Cannot recommend this accommodation enough. "The best deal in Sucuraj"
Reviewed September 18, 2012 The rooms are very clean. The price is very reasonable. The location is excellent; it is close to both the ferry and the beach. But the best part of this lodging is the hospitality of the owner Ida and her family. She would make you feel at home and provide you greta service. And don't miss out on any opportunity to taste her homemade cooking and/or sample the homemade liqueur. "The Best place for family holidays"
Reviewed August 12, 2012 Very quiet place, very nice owners, very clean apartments!!!!! Owners production good wine, liqueurs and rakia!!! Only 200 meters from beach. Good choice for mountain bike holiday. Possibility to rent a motorboat. "A Little Piece of Paradise"
Reviewed October 17, 2012 Located in the idyllic town of Sucuraj on Hvar Island, Apartments Ida offered the perfect respite for our group during a hectic week of cycling through the islands. We were introduced to the first class hospitality before even arriving, as the proprietor's daughter was waiting for us as we got off the ferry to escort us through town to the house. After checking in to the surprisingly modern rooms with A/C, cable television, and WiFi, we were able to enjoy the tranquility of the property, situated just 200 yards from the beach and surrounded by groves of olive and lemon trees, while sipping on some of the homemade liqueur. The dinner of fresh fish, grilled meats, and homegrown vegetables was first-class and rivaled any of the other restaurants in Korcula, Jelsa, or even Split. While the rooms are clean and views from the balcony are breathtaking, the hospitality and service offered by Apartments Ida makes it a perfect place to stop over while touring Hvar. "Bike group loved it."
Reviewed September 18, 2012 The rooms were above expectation. The bed was comfortable. The AC was not needed due to the sea breeze. There were electrical outlets galore. The shower fit my size. Ida's family was very gracious in their welcome. A nice beach was a short walk away. AND the beer was cold. AND they got CNN. |

Reviewed June 22, 2017 This is my 4th time visiting Ida's family. I usually stay for a night or two on a bike trip. I just may have to book for a week next time. Ida has made it so relaxing. The quick ferry to Drvenik makes day trips to Dubrovnik and Mostar easy. This place is great value. "Highlight of Croatia trip"
Reviewed August 26, 2016 This was by far our best Croatian accommodation experience and destination. Katarina and her parents went above and beyond to make our stay a truly unforgettable one. Ida felt like a mother to us as she took us in, always with a smile, and insisted on sharing her delicious homemade products. We were lucky enough to be invited to dinner in their beautiful garden where they prepared an amazing Dalmatian feast. The apartments are clean, spacious, fully equipped, and have beautiful views of olive groves, fig trees and the sea. The ferry terminal and village center is a few minutes walk and in the other direction are several little beaches with the cleanest, clearest beautiful water. The people of Sucuraj are kind and the atmosphere is relaxed and happy. I fell in love with Sucuraj and I recommend Ida Apartments with the fullest gratitude and confidence! "Wonderful vacation"
Reviewed July 12, 2015 We would like to say big, big, big thank you to Ida and her family for their hospitality. Our recommendation for all: Don´t miss Ida´s delicious home-made diner or lunch! :-) And rent a boat from Ante and enjoy boat trip to bays and beaches! "Excellent position"
Reviewed July 8, 2015 Very clean house, very good position just 5 mins away from a pretty little harbor. The only reason I have not given it 5 stars is our room was at the front and looked out on to the parking area. Round the back looked better. We were offered a wine on arrival and owners were very nice and friendly. Around the harbor there are quite a few restaurants to chose from and a couple of grocery shops etc. Nice walks around the harbor and beyond. "A little piece of paradise"

Reviewed September 8, 2014 Like so many people before this really is a fantastic place to stay and explore the Island, not busy like Hvar Town, very relaxed and Ida and the family could not do enough for us they were FAB. Great Food at IDA's which is excellent value and superb. My daughter, wife and I were all catered for with Fresh Fish, excellent Steak and plenty of wine/beer. We even used the family car and boat for a small fee, which the boat ride exploring all the beautiful bays of the Island is a MUST!!. (Stunning Island). When we did venture to the restaurants in Sucuraj all were good value with excellent choice. We will go back to apartment IDA. Thank you once again and anyone reading this GO you will not be disappointed. Room Tip: Hire the family boat and sail along the beautiful shoreline with countless turqouise bays. "Paradise revisited"
Reviewed July 17, 2014 A group of us bicycling through the Croatian islands returned here for two days and nights in early July. More travelers seem to be discovering Apartments Ida, and for good reason. Ida has a sense of artistry and feng shui that blends the structure (complete with solar panels) and grounds into a singular peaceful and artistic harmony. This extends to her cooking, which I place at a gastronomic level. Eating here is everything you could want in a Mediterranean feast, with fruits and vegetables grown in the garden, cheeses and meats sourced from high quality food artisans on the island, and fish fresh from the sea. Do not eat elsewhere. Meals are prepared at a level that would run a substantial amount at any high-quality restaurant in western Europe or North America, setting aside the multiple fig and orange brandies, wines and beers that I consumed. Ida and her family are among the most delightful and worldly people I have ever met, and I consider them friends. I look forward to returning here in the future. "Unforgettable stay"
Reviewed January 6, 2014 We just spend two days at Ida Apartments, but it was simply perfect. Ida and her family were great hosts. Everything you need is in walking distance, beautiful beaches, grocery stores or restaurants. However I would recommend you to eat at Ida's apartment. We took this advantage and we didn't get disappointed, the food was DELICIOUS, better than any other place around Hvar. I would really recommend it. Even for my vegetarian girlfriend she prepared a delicious dinner. To describe our stay at Ida's in short, it was a relaxing, beautiful and fun time, with a great family as our hosts. "Family atmosphere"
Reviewed October 4, 2013 Pension Ida is five minutes away from the nice stone beach and five minutes walk from the center of the city. The place is very quiet and peaceful, most of the rooms have great view on the turquoise water bay and beach Česminica. The rooms are very clean and fully equipped with kitchen equippment. However the most important is the hospitality of the owners - family Franicević who are very hospitable, nice and social people. Apart from accommodation you can also have dinner there in their own konoba where they serve fresh fish, sea food and vegetables from their own garden all served with home made red or white wine from their plantation. Before eating dinner you can also have a home made aperitif drink - such us travarica, rogacica or prośek. You can also buy a bottle of alcohol or home made excellent quality olive oil from them. This was our sixth time there, I think there is no better recommendation :) "We will definitely come back!"
Reviewed July 30, 2013 The apartment are places in the middle of the small charming fishing village/port of Sucuraj. It is equally long to the restaurant as to the beach. And both are about 100-150 meters which is perfect for a family with small kids. But you dont need to go to the restaurants. The owner makes a superb 3 course-dinner at request that are better priced and much better tasting than the restaurants in the harbor. She go lengths to make you fell welcome and enjoy your stay. Even to such level that you want to call her your friend after a week. This is way beyond processional, it is a genuine warm heart. "Love IDA"
Reviewed October 18, 2012 Just short car ferry ride from Drvenik (on the main road between Split and Dubrovnik), this beautiful locale would make an ideal first overnight base for exploring the idyllic Hvar Island. The apartments are fully equipped, tastefully decorated, comfortable, quiet, and spotless, with private bathrooms. In many ways, this felt more like a small bouique hotel. Our group raved about the friendly hospitality of Ida and her family. They offer an optional full dinner of home cooked Croatian food, including fresh grilled fish, appetizers, cheeses, home-grown vegetables, and homemade liquers in a lovely Mediterranean garden setting, which is highly recommended. It was one of our two best meals in Croatia. A beautiful beach is located nearby. Apartments Ida was worth considerably more than the money spent, and we wish the time could have been longer. "Hospitality Special"
Reviewed September 27, 2012 This was the highlight stay for my bike group touring Korcula, Hvar and Brac. Ida and her family rolled out the hospitality carpet; absolutely superb. While called "apartments," Apartments Ida really are a hybrid of apartments and a guest house. They offer the best of both. Extremely clean, comfortable, optional (and recommended!) dinner on the premises. Only a two-minute walk from the center of town (with the landing for the ferry to and from Drvenik on the mainland) and from the public beach. Apartments Ida make it well worth visiting eastern Hvar in addition to the well-traveled western part of the island. |
